Taban Air (Persian: تابان ایر) is an airline headquartered in Tehran, Iran, with its main operational base in Mashhad. It operates international, domestic and charter routes as a scheduled carrier.

History

The airline was established in 2005 and started operations in 2006. Taban Air was founded by Captain Asghar Abdollahpour.

On 24 January 2010, Taban Air lost its AOC following the serious runway incursion and subsequent fire of Taban Air Flight 6437.[1]

Note: Taban Air had 5 Tu-154M's (3 operated by Kolavia and 2 by Tajik Air) but one operated by Kolavia was lost in an accident at Mashhad International Airport on 24 January 2010.

All of Taban Air aircraft (except for EP-TBA) were operated by different airlines. At January 2010, Kolavia, Hemus Air and Tajik Air all operated aircraft for Taban Air.
